A PICKLE INVITED TO SCREEN AT THE I HEART VAN ART FESTIVAL DURING THE 2010 OLYMPICS!


The family drama A Pickle starring Cainan Wiebe and William B. Davis has been invited to screen during the 2010 Winter Olympics at the I Heart Van Art Film Festival in Yaletown on an outdoor screen.  Director and Producer Karen Nielsen will be in attendance for a Q&A after the screening.

ENVIRONMENTAL KIDS SERIES IN PRE-PRODUCTION WITH KAREN NIELSEN DIRECTING


Hollywood North Productions in association with Blue Finn Productions have begun pre-production on the half hour environmental kids presentation pilot EnviroKids with Karen Nielsen directing.  Along with Executive Producer Nevin Swain, Karen Nielsen will be writing and producing the project.

EnviroKids is currently scouring the world for kids who are taking action to protect the environment keeping our planet safe.  If you or anyone you know, knows a potential EnviroKid please email details (name, contact info, picture, story of how you/they are taking action to protect the environment) to envirokidseries@gmail.com.

Production begins in May 2010.


A PICKLE'S CAINAN WIEBE WINS AN AWARD AND A PICKLE IS INVITED TO MORE FESTIVALS!


Rising young star Cainan Wiebe who stared in A Pickle along side William B. Davis won the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Short Film - Young Actor in A Pickle.  Cainan Wiebe was on hand in Hollywood to walk the red carpet and accept his award.  Check out pictures of Cainan at the event and with his award!

To add to the excitement A Pickle continues to screen all around the world having been invited to screen at the Nickel Independent Film Festival in St. John's New Found Land (Canada) and at the Reno Film Festival in Reno Nevada.  Both festivals take place in June 2009.  Check out the screening information for more details.



A PICKLE'S CAINAN WIEBE NOMINATED FOR YOUNG ARTIST AWARD!


Actor Cainan Wiebe who played Charlie in the short family film A Pickle has been nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Short Film in A Pickle!  The 30th Annual Young Artist Awards will be held on March 29, 2009 at the Globe Theater at Universal Studios in Los Angeles.

A PICKLE WON BEST OF BC AWARD!


A Pickle has been awarded the Knowledge Best of BC Award at the Reel to Real International Film Festival of Youth.  The Best of BC award is awarded by a jury of 13-19 year olds.  A Pickle will be screening at the Reel to Real Festival Tuesday February 24 at 10:30am and will be awarded the Best of BC Award at the opening night of the festival at the Award Ceremony on Friday February 20th at 6:30pm.  Director/Producer Karen Nielsen will be attending both events.  Visit A Pickle for more details.

A PICKLE SCREENING AT 4 FILM FESTIVAL OVER THE NEXT THREE MONTHS INCLUDING VANCOUVER!


The short family film A Pickle starring William B. Davis & Cainan Wiebe has been invited to screen at five upcoming film festivals including the Reel to Real International Film Festival which takes place in the home city of the Cast and Crew, Vancouver BC.  A Pickle will be having its Vancouver premiere at the Reel to Real International Film Festival on Feb 24th.  Then will be going down south to Hollywood, CA for the International Family Film Festival and to San Francisco for the San Francisco Bay Area International Children's Film Festival.  A Pickle will return back to Canada for the Reel Shorts Film Festival in Grand Prairie, AB.  Through the next four months A Pickle will be touring the world with the Kids First Film Festival which travels to cities all over the world.

A PICKLE INVITED TO KIDS FIRST! FILM FESTIVAL


A Pickle
as been selected along with approximatetly 75 films to tour with the Kids First! Film Festival running January 15, 2009 through April 15, 2009. The KIDS FIRST! Film Festival screenings take place in more than 100 different venues nationwide, including established film festivals, art and children's museums, nonprofit film centers, community centers and similar venues

A PICKLE INVITED TO SCREEN IN NEW YORK CITY, EDMONTON & CHICAGO!

The short family film A Pickle (starring Wiliam B. Davis and Cainen Wiebe) has been invited to have its world premiere at the Academy Award qualifying New York City Short Film Festival on September 20, 2008.  A Pickle will be 1 of 30 films screening over two days in New York City.  With director/producer Karen Nielsen and writer Michael Field both attending the festival it is sure to be an exciting  introduction of A Pickle to the world!

The Canadian Premiere of A Pickle will take place at the Edmonton International Film Festival with two screenings on October 2 (Sobeys Lunchbox Shorts @ noon) and 3rd (Canadian Shorts @ 6pm) 2008.  Edmonton is also the hometown of one of the stars of A Pickle, Brendan Meyer.  Both Brendan Meyer and director/producer Karen Nielsen will be in attendance for both screenings which include a filmmakers Q&A and after the Canadian Shorts programme there will be an afterparty (location TBC).

The Chicago International Children's Film Festival has invited A Pickle to screen at its 25th Anniversary Festival which will be held from Oct 23 - Nov 2, 2008.  The CICFF is North America's largest and most celebrated film festival devoted to films for and by kids, and it is the only Academy Award qualifying children's film festival in the world!
